Edges of lid and sides of box have a deep espresso finish with soft amber tone highlights showing a distressed woodgrain pattern.
The hinged lid is also a photo frame; it comes with a lovely art print, under glass, that reads: "Good friends are like stars, you can't always see them, but you know they are there." Also includes the scripture verse Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loves at all times." Print can be changed out for a favorite photo cut to 2 3/8" x 4 5/8"; window size at top is 4" x 2".
